With more than 35 years of experience in aging services, Dr. Jennifer Carson is a critical gerontologist and leads innovative, community-driven initiatives to enhance dementia care and inclusion. She directs Dementia Friendly Nevada and co-leads ICECAP Nevada, delivering inter-professional training to caregivers and healthcare professionals. Her award-winning work promotes brain health, combats ageism and advances relationship-centered dementia care across diverse communities.

Dr. Gayatri Devi is multi-board-certified, specializing in brain health, dementia and neurodegenerative disorders. She leads pioneering work in neuromodulation and memory care through clinical leadership, public advocacy, and published works that continue to elevate compassionate, innovative dementia care for patients and caregivers alike. Her book, "The Spectrum of Hope: An Optimistic and New Approach to Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias," is told through the stories of her patients. The book redefines how the world views these diseases and promotes hope for those living with a diagnosis.

Dr. Anne Basting is a leading voice in the global movement to integrate creativity into dementia and elder care. As founder of TimeSlips.org and author of "Creative Care: A Revolutionary Approach to DEMENTIA and ELDER CARE," she has pioneered storytelling and arts-based engagement practices that promote meaning-making across all stages of life. A MacArthur “Genius” Fellow, her work bridges scholarship, performance and advocacy to transform care systems through the power of imagination.

At UWM, Basting directed the internationally renowned Center for 21st Century Studies (from 2021-2024), expanding and emphasizing collaboration and public engagement as an interdisciplinary humanities center. She originated and taught the Story Experience Fellow program, a year-long experiential learning program in which students are embedded in health and social care settings and build community through a range of story facilitation techniques.

Basting is currently at work on multiple projects, including EMC2, which aims to sustainably scale Memory Cafes in the U.S.; a new participatory play format to tour Memory Cafes; a new book about daily practices of creative care for family caregivers; and a performance project to create a ritual to recognize the passage into becoming a care partner for an adult or elder (Careshowers.org).
